Racing Incident Report
VINTAGE GOLD, second Standby Declared Starter, was withdrawn on 25.3.06 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (right fore tendon injury). Before being allowed to race again, VINTAGE GOLD will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. On jumping, GUNG HO was crowded for room between QUEST FOR LOVE and EVERGREEN. ABERDEEN began awkwardly and bumped the outside gate of its stall. GALLANT FALCON began awkwardly, got its head up and was then checked to avoid the heels of CHAMP DRAGON. At the 1200 Metres, EVERGREEN got its head on the side and shifted in. Approaching the 800 Metres, ABERDEEN, which was proving difficult to settle, got its head up when being steadied away from the heels of SUPREME GAINS. In the middle stages, FORTUNE WARRIOR raced wide and without cover, then in the early part of the Straight hung in. Because of this, Y T Cheng, the horse's rider, changed the whip into his right hand after the 350 Metres. Prior to straightening, OPTIC KING was bumped by SUPREME GAINS which at this time shifted to the outside of LUCKY DIAMOND into clear running. After the 200 Metres, BLISS STAR got its head on the side and shifted out. At the 100 Metres, EVERGREEN was bumped by QUEST FOR LOVE which shifted out. In the Straight, GUNG HO hung in. SUPREME GAINS, LUCKY DIAMOND and AWARD were sent for sampling.
