Racing Incident Report

After arriving at the saddling stalls, it was noted SUPER DRAGON had shifted its left hind plate. This plate was reset. The horse was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was suitable to race. SURE FORTUNE was slow to begin. TOY QUEST was slow to begin and then stumbled. SUPER DRAGON made the turn at the 700 Metres awkwardly and lost ground. Also making the turn at the 700 Metres, FLORAL ARTS hung out. In the Straight, ACTIVE VALOUR hung in, after the 200 Metres raced tight outside HAPPY WINNING and near the 50 Metres shifted in, brushed HAPPY WINNING. Because of this, B Prebble, the rider of ACTIVE VALOUR, stopped riding and straightened his mount. In the run to the line, ACTIVE VALOUR again got its head on the side and hung in, placing B Prebble at a disadvantage in riding his mount out. Over the concluding stages, CROWNED GEM had difficulty obtaining clear running when racing behind SUPREMACY and tight inside HAPPY WINNING. Throughout the race, TABBRIS travelled wide and without cover and in the Straight gave ground. SUPREMACY and ACTIVE VALOUR were sent for sampling. After the race, it was reported TOY QUEST had bled from both nostrils. Also after the race, it was noted FLORAL ARTS had minor bleeding from the right nostril. An endoscopic examination showed the horse's trachea to be clean and as such FLORAL ARTS was not deemed to have bled.
