Racing Incident Report
PROPELLER was slow to begin. SINOSPIEL began awkwardly, bumped the outside gate of its stall and lost ground. At the 1500 Metres, CHALLENGER was initially crowded for room between CYPRESS HILL and FANTASTIC WIN (A Delpech). As a result of this crowding, after FANTASTIC WIN shifted out to relieve the pressure, CHALLENGER continued to lay onto the hindquarters of CYPRESS HILL, got its head up and was checked. The Stewards believed CHALLENGER had contributed to its own circumstances, therefore no action was taken, however, A Delpech was reprimanded for shifting in and causing the initial crowding. In this incident, inconvenience was caused to CENAMIRA and also SILVERBIRD which was following was checked. Making the turn at the 1300 Metres, CHALLENGER shifted out away from the heels of CYPRESS HILL. This caused inconvenience to ROCKET WIN which as a result was hampered and carried wider. Making the turn at the 600 Metres, SPEED OF LIGHT shifted in and bumped the hindquarters of VINCERE, causing that horse to become unbalanced. At the 200 Metres, PROPELLER was steadied and shifted out away from the heels of GLORIOUS RHYTHM. At the 150 Metres, VINCERE shifted out and bumped CYPRESS HILL which itself shifted in slightly. As a result, both horses became unbalanced. For the major part of the race, FANTASTIC WIN travelled wide and without cover. Whilst the Stewards were satisfied A Delpech's riding on the 5th placegetter, FANTASTIC WIN, over the concluding stages did not affect the horse's finishing position, he nonetheless was told to ensure he rides his mounts out fully to the winning post where possible. ROCKET WIN, GLORIOUS RHYTHM and NAPA were sent for an official veterinary inspection. After the race, NAPA was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said the horse was lame in the left front leg. Before being allowed to race again, NAPA will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection of ROCKET WIN and GLORIOUS RHYTHM after the race did not show any significant findings. CYPRESS HILL and VINCERE were sent for sampling.
