Racing Incident Report
MY EGO began awkwardly and lost ground. SWEETIE was slow to begin. At the 1300 Metres, WE'RE BUDDIES and OH GREAT were crowded for room inside WINWIN COMBO which initially got its head on the side and shifted away from COULDN'T CARE LESS and then was carried in slightly by that horse. No action was taken. In the early stages, STRIKE TO WIN travelled wide and without cover and after the 1200 Metres was taken back to a position behind COULDN'T CARE LESS, then after the 1000 Metres was again left racing without cover when COULDN'T CARE LESS shifted across to race outside FORTUNE GOLD. At the 1200 Metres, MY EGO got its head up when being steadied away from the heels of SWEETIE. After the 1200 Metres, GLOBE RIVER was steadied away from the heels SUNRISE STRIKER which itself was steadied away from the heels of STRIKE TO WIN. Making the turn at the 1000 Metres, WINWIN COMBO hung in. Making the turn at the 600 Metres, GLOBE RIVER became unbalanced and shortly afterwards was steadied away from the heels of FRAMES DEPOT which shifted in slightly. Near the 200 Metres, WE'RE BUDDIES was shifted to the inside of FORTUNE GOLD which was giving ground. At the 150 Metres, MY EGO (Y T Cheng), which was commencing to close the race off strongly, was checked severely to avoid the heels of FORTUNE GOLD which was continuing to give ground. Y T Cheng was advised to exercise greater care. Also at the 150 Metres, SWEETIE became unbalanced and lost ground when being steadied while momentarily crowded inside WE'RE BUDDIES (W M Lai) which shifted in slightly when not properly clear. WE'RE BUDDIES was immediately shifted out to prevent causing further crowding and in the circumstances W M Lai was reprimanded and told to exercise greater care. In the Straight, GLOBE RIVER hung in. FORTUNE GOLD was sent for an official veterinary inspection and sampling. COULDN'T CARE LESS was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of FORTUNE GOLD and COULDN'T CARE LESS after the race did not show any significant findings. JUSTINIAN and WINWIN COMBO were sent for sampling. After the race, it was reported SUNRISE STRIKER had bled from both nostrils.
