Racing Incident Report

CHEEKY LAD began awkwardly and then was taken back to a rearward position. SHANGDONG SCHOLAR began awkwardly, got its head up and then bumped with COME HO CHOI which on jumping shifted in. With the intention of being ridden on the rail, COME HO CHOI from a wide barrier was then taken back and across behind runners in the early stages. CHAMPION LAD began awkwardly, shortly afterwards lost ground when crowded for room between FOREVER RICHES and CENTENNIAL SMILE. Then CHAMPION LAD proved difficult to settle for a considerable distance and near the 800 Metres was checked away from the heels of SHANGDONG SCHOLAR. After this, CHAMPION LAD shifted out, causing some inconvenience to WIN FOR ALL. Near the 1400 Metres, SHANGDONG SCHOLAR, which had been ridden along to make up ground and then proved difficult to settle, was checked to avoid the heels of CLASSIC HORSE (Apprentice C W Wong) which shifted in when not properly clear. When SHANGDONG SCHOLAR was checked, some crowding was also caused to CHAMPION LAD. In the circumstances, Apprentice Wong was reprimanded and told to exercise greater care. Prior to straightening, CHINESE BOY BOY was checked when awkwardly placed inside the heels of BUTTERFIELD and outside SUPER FANTASY which when travelling keenly and being steadied away from the heels of SUPER CHARGE shifted out. No action was taken. In the early part of the Straight, SUPER FANTASY had difficulty obtaining clear running, near the 300 Metres was momentarily crowded for room between SUPER CHARGE and CLASSIC HORSE which shifted in momentarily. Also near the 300 Metres, CHINESE BOY BOY was steadied and shifted out away from the heels of CHAMPION LAD which at this time was giving ground. Approaching and passing the 300 Metres, COME HO CHOI was steadied when having difficulty obtaining clear running. For the major part of the race, WIN FOR ALL travelled wide and without cover. I'M NO SQUARE, CENTENNIAL SMILE and CHAMPION LAD were sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of I'M NO SQUARE, CENTENNIAL SMILE and CHAMPION LAD after the race did not show any significant findings. BUTTERFIELD and SUPER FANTASY were sent for sampling.
