Racing Incident Report

During the preliminary, Apprentice K L Chui was dislodged from AMAZING CHOICE. AMAZING CHOICE completed a lap of the course riderless prior to being recaptured. Acting on the advice of the Veterinary Officer that AMAZING CHOICE was not suitable to race, the Stewards ordered the withdrawal of the horse. HAPPY FIT, SEA TREASURE and PACIFIC ALLIANCE were slow to begin. After the 1100 Metres, PACIFIC ALLIANCE, which had been proving difficult to settle and was awkwardly placed close to the heels of LAZY BUDDIES, was shifted out and travelled into a forward position without cover. Near the 800 Metres, HAPPY FIT was steadied away from the heels of FANTASTIC GUY. On straightening, GRABBIT was bumped and carried wider by BAAZIGAR which at this time was steadied and shifted to the outside of ELEPHANT DANCE into clear running. At the 250 Metres, ABLE KNIGHT lost ground when awkwardly placed between HAPPY HEROES and FANTASTIC GUY which at this time shifted out slightly. Then close to the line, ABLE KNIGHT was again awkward on the heels of FANTASTIC GUY. SUNNY RIVIERA was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of SUNNY RIVIERA after the race did not show any significant findings. ELEPHANT DANCE and BAAZIGAR were sent for sampling. After the race, it was reported FANTASTIC GUY had lost its left front plate.
