Racing Incident Report

FASTER FASTER was withdrawn on 24.4.07 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (high muscle enzyme) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter WITHALLMYHEART (Apprentice K L Chui). Before being allowed to race again, FASTER FASTER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. KING PALM began awkwardly, then shortly afterwards KING PALM and MAJIN BUU lost ground when crowded for room between OPTIC KING and EUPHORIC KID which on jumping shifted in. MAINLAND MASTER began awkwardly, then was bumped by WYNDAM PLENTY which shifted ground after being bumped by UNIVERSAL KOMISSAR. From the outside barrier, PROFIT HILL was taken across behind runners shortly after the start. Approaching the 800 Metres, PROFIT HILL was awkwardly placed inside BRAVERY LUCK. At the 500 Metres, UNIVERSAL KOMISSAR was bumped by WITHALLMYHEART. At the 250 Metres, BEAMING RIVER, which was hanging in, was awkwardly placed close to the heels of WYNDAM PLENTY. For a short distance after this, BEAMING RIVER had difficulty obtaining clear running. Approaching and passing the 200 Metres, PROFIT HILL, which was closing the race off strongly, had difficulty obtaining clear running. H K Yim (OPTIC KING) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that after the 100 Metres he permitted his mount to shift in when not clear of MAJIN BUU, resulting in that horse being checked and losing its rightful running. H K Yim was suspended from riding in races for a period to expire on Wednesday 2 May 2007 on which day he may resume race riding (2 Hong Kong racedays). This suspension is with immediate effect. In addition, H K Yim was fined $10,000 in lieu of a suspension for a period incorporating 1 further raceday. Over the concluding stages, BRAVERY LUCK hung in and was awkwardly placed close to the heels of MAINLAND MASTER. Because of this, BRAVERY LUCK was not ridden out fully right to the end of the race. Close to the winning post, MAJIN BUU and EUPHORIC KID raced tight inside UNIVERSAL KOMISSAR which drifted in. Because of this, EUPHORIC KID and MAJIN BUU were not ridden out to the end of the race. Throughout the race, WITHALLMYHEART travelled wide and without cover. UNIVERSAL KOMISSAR, BEAMING RIVER and MAINLAND MASTER were sent for sampling. After the race, it was reported WYNDAM PLENTY had lost its left front plate and PROFIT HILL had sustained abrasion wounds to both front fetlocks.
