Racing Incident Report
I'M NO SQUARE was withdrawn on 28.4.07 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame right fore foot). Before being allowed to race again, I'M NO SQUARE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. BRIGHT AND GAY was a little slow to begin, then shortly afterwards shifted ground and bumped with VINTAGE GOLD, as a result of which both horses lost ground. SOUTH BREEZE was slow to muster speed. Shortly after the start, A MIRROR was bumped by GALLANT WIN. In the early stages, CHAMPION LAD hung out. After the 1400 Metres, A MIRROR was steadied away from the heels of WAIT FOR ME. For the major part of the race, GALLANT WIN travelled wide and without cover and making the Home Turn hung out. In the early part of the Straight, SOUTH BREEZE had difficulty obtaining clear running and SUPER IDEAL hung in. Near the 350 Metres, WAIT FOR ME got its head on the side, shifted in away from GALLANT WIN and was then checked away from the heels of SOUND OF SILENCE. At the 300 Metres, BRIGHT AND GAY, which had been experiencing difficulty obtaining clear running, was steadied when disappointed for running between RED WINE HONEY and CHAMPION LAD. At the 150 Metres, CHAMPION LAD was steadied when awkwardly placed between RED WINE HONEY and SOUTH BREEZE which at this time shifted out. Over the concluding stages, SOUTH BREEZE and RED WINE HONEY raced tight. In the run to the line, WAIT FOR ME was awkwardly placed close to the heels of A MIRROR. Because of this, WAIT FOR ME was not ridden out fully to the end of the race. D Whyte (LIMONCELLO) was unable to offer any explanation for the poor performance of the horse. He said he was able to obtain a forward position and the horse travelled comfortably in the run, however, after straightening did not respond to his riding. He did say in his opinion LIMONCELLO did not concentrate during the race. LIMONCELLO was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of LIMONCELLO after the race did not show any significant findings. SOUTH BREEZE, SUPER IDEAL and A MIRROR were sent for sampling.
