Racing Incident Report
BEAR MACHO began awkwardly. On jumping, CONGRATS got its head up and lost ground. From the outside barrier, LASER POWER was taken across behind runners in the early stages. Shortly after the start, TIGER PRAWN was steadied when crowded for room between BEAR MACHO and BYRON which momentarily shifted in. Making the turn at the 1000 Metres, RIVER JORDAN was crowded for room inside BEAR MACHO which at this time got its head up and shifted in when being steadied away from the heels of ISLAND SPEED. On straightening, BEAR MACHO was bumped on the hindquarters by EASY which at this time was experiencing some difficulty in obtaining clear running. At the 150 Metres, NOBLE MAN shifted to the outside of BEAR MACHO to obtain clear running. Over the concluding stages, CONGRATS, which was closing the race off strongly, was not able to obtain clear running and because of this was not ridden out to the end of the race. Throughout the race, GRAND SUPREME travelled wide and without cover. GRAND SUPREME was sent for an official veterinary inspection. After the race, GRAND SUPREME was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said the horse was lame in the right front leg. Before being allowed to race again, GRAND SUPREME will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. EASY, TIGER PRAWN and SANZIRO were sent for sampling. Following the race, the Veterinary Officer reported EASY had lost its right front plate.
