Racing Incident Report

Near the 1600 Metres, CHEERFUL HEART was steadied away from the heels of HAPPY ALL AROUND which shifted in when barely clear. Making the turn at the 600 Metres, ROCKALOT was checked when awkwardly placed inside LUCKY MONEY STAR which shifted in slightly away from ELEPHANT DANCE which drifted in. In the circumstances, no action was taken. In the Straight, WONG’S SUCCESS hung in. After the race, Apprentice K L Chui (HAPPY ALL AROUND) reported his mount did not handle tonight’s track conditions. When questioned regarding the poor performance of ON SHAN BRAVE, D Whyte explained at no stage of the race did his mount handle tonight’s track conditions. He said after entering the Back Straight he endeavoured to follow ELEPHANT DANCE forward, however, his mount did not respond to his riding. ON SHAN BRAVE was sent for an official veterinary inspection and sampling. A veterinary inspection of ON SHAN BRAVE after the race did not show any significant findings. ELEPHANT DANCE and SAMBUOYANT were sent for sampling. After the race, it was reported CENTENNIAL SMILE had lost its left front plate.
Additional Veterinary Reports (released on 19 June 2008)
The Veterinary Officer reported that CHEERFUL HEART was this morning found to be lame in the left front leg. Before being allowed to race again, CHEERFUL HEART will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
