Racing Incident Report
CHATER DE LAGO was difficult to load. Before being allowed to race again, CHATER DE LAGO will have to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test. Shortly after the start, SIXTY SECONDS was bumped by FORTUNE DRAGON which shifted in. From wide barriers, ROCKET AND GOLD, ALL OUR WAY and DASHING CHAMPION were taken back in the early stages. At the 1300 Metres, MULTO EXPRESSO was steadied away from the heels of CHATER DE LAGO which itself was steadied to avoid the heels of KINGSTON WINNER as that horse was steadied away from the hindquarters of ROMANTIC GREEN which became unbalanced after shifting in and bumping the running rail. At the same time, FORTUNE DRAGON was also steadied away from the heels of KINGSTON WINNER. After this, FORTUNE DRAGON hung in for the remainder of the race and travelled wide and without cover until the 600 Metres. At the 900 Metres, CHATER DE LAGO was checked to avoid the heels of ROMANTIC GREEN which was steadied away from the heels of SILVER WRAITH (P H Lo) which shifted across to lead when barely clear and then steadied the tempo. P H Lo was severely reprimanded and told to exercise greater care. Also at the 900 Metres, SIXTY SECONDS was steadied away from the heels of MULTO EXPRESSO which was steadied when crowded for room inside FORTUNE DRAGON which when continuing to hang in shifted ground. At the 500 Metres, CHATER DE LAGO raced tight inside MULTO EXPRESSO. Approaching the 200 Metres, HAPPY HEROES, which was commencing to close the race off strongly, had difficulty obtaining clear running and was then steadied when disappointed for running at the 200 Metres inside ROMANTIC GREEN which was steadied when disappointed for running inside SILVER WRAITH. After the 200 Metres, HAPPY HEROES was checked when crowded for room between FORTUNE DRAGON which shifted in while continuing to hang in when giving ground and ROMANTIC GREEN which shifted to the outside of SILVER WRAITH to obtain clear running. In the circumstances, no action was taken. After this incident, HAPPY HEROES did not obtain clear running for the remainder of the race. In the circumstances of this race, the Stewards believed the performance of FORTUNE DRAGON was unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, FORTUNE DRAGON will have to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial around a bend. At the 100 Metres, ALL OUR WAY was steadied when disappointed for running between CHATER DE LAGO and DASHING CHAMPION. Also at the 100 Metres, KINGSTON WINNER was momentarily steadied away from the heels of MULTO EXPRESSO which shifted in when just clear. ROCKET AND GOLD was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of ROCKET AND GOLD after the race did not show any significant findings. MULTO EXPRESSO and DASHING CHAMPION were sent for sampling. After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that SILVER WRAITH had lost its right front plate.
