Racing Incident Report
HOME TREASURE was slow to begin, then lost further ground when crowded for room between DREAM HORSE and KILDARE. In this incident, KILDARE became unbalanced and lost ground. EXTRA SPECIAL was slow into stride. At the 600 Metres, DREAM HORSE, which was inclined to hang out, became unbalanced after bumping with KINDACROSS. After this, DREAM HORSE shifted out, bumped with HOME TREASURE and as a consequence lost ground. At the 500 Metres, DREAM HORSE was checked when crowded for room between KINDACROSS and KILDARE which became unbalanced and shifted out after being bumped by LUCKY FRUIT which was carried out slightly by TUSCAN SPIRIT. No action was taken. After the 400 Metres, KILDARE was shifted to the outside of TUSCAN SPIRIT to obtain clear running. At the 250 Metres, KILDARE was brushed by DYNAMIC BLITZ which shifted out slightly. Shortly after this, DYNAMIC BLITZ and KILDARE bumped due mainly to KILDARE shifting in. After the 200 Metres, SOUTH CHINA ELITE, which was giving ground, became unbalanced and was checked when bumped by HOME TREASURE which shifted out after initially being carried out by TUSCAN SPIRIT which got its head on the side and commenced to hang. TUSCAN SPIRIT continued to hang out for the remainder of the race. B Prebble (SOUTH CHINA ELITE) said his mount travelled comfortably in the early stages, however, did not respond when placed under pressure. He said when bumped after the 200 Metres SOUTH CHINA ELITE appeared to lose its action and did not stride out afterwards. SOUTH CHINA ELITE was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of SOUTH CHINA ELITE after the race did not show any significant findings. DYNAMIC BLITZ and KILDARE were sent for sampling. <1/12/2008 Additional Veterinary Reports > SOUTH CHINA ELITE, which performed poorly, was examined by the Head of Veterinary Regulation & International Liaison. He said at that time there were no significant findings. SOUTH CHINA ELITE was again examined by the Head of Veterinary Regulation & International Liaison at the stables of Trainer D J Hall this morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be lame in its left front leg. Before being allowed to race again, SOUTH CHINA ELITE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
