Racing Incident Report

From the outside barriers, FLEET COMMAND and LEGEND OF COLOUR were taken back on jumping, QUICK TOUCH began awkwardly, shifted in and bumped the hindquarters of ENERGIZED. As a consequence, QUICK TOUCH lost ground. Near the 1500 Metres, MORE BOUNTIFUL and KINGS FALCON were momentarily crowded for room inside UNIQUE JEWELLERY. Near the 1400 Metres, FLEET COMMAND was steadied away from the heels of LEGEND OF COLOUR. Near the 1200 Metres, KINGS FALCON lost ground when bumped by MORE BOUNTIFUL which shifted in after getting its head up when being checked away from the heels of UNIQUE JEWELLERY (D Whyte) which at this time got its head up when being steadied in an attempt to obtain a position with cover. D Whyte was told in similar circumstances he should exercise greater care. In the early stages, SUNNY GOLF proved difficult to settle and throughout the race hung out. On straightening, ROMPING shifted out and bumped LEGEND OF COLOUR which held its line. ROMPING was then checked when crowded for room between LEGEND OF COLOUR and ROMA PEGASUS which shifted out slightly when being steadied away from the heels of ARION OF CHIU TON which when commencing to give ground was bumped and carried wider by UNIQUE JEWELLERY which shifted to the outside of ENERGIZED into clear running. No action was taken. At the 150 Metres, C Soumillon (THUMBS UP) dropped his right rein. At about the 75 Metres, W C Marwing (KINGS FALCON) was struck on the left hand by the whip of C Soumillon. Close to the line, O Doleuze (MORE BOUNTIFUL) dropped his left rein. The performance of ENERGIZED, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, ENERGIZED will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. When questioned regarding the performance of UNIQUE JEWELLERY, D Whyte said his mount relaxed and travelled comfortably after obtaining a position with cover at the 1000 Metres. He said when shifted into clear running on straightening UNIQUE JEWELLERY did not quicken as he anticipated it would and in his opinion raced "flat". UNIQUE JEWELLERY was sent for an official veterinary inspection and sampling. SUNNY GOLF was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of UNIQUE JEWELLERY and SUNNY GOLF after the race did not show any significant findings. THUMBS UP and MORE BOUNTIFUL were sent for sampling.
