Racing Incident Report
MAINLAND SHUTTLE was withdrawn on 6.3.09 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame left fore). Before being allowed to race again, MAINLAND SHUTTLE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. After being boxed, GREAT SHOW became fractious and commenced to kick out behind with its left hind leg becoming momentarily caught between the back gates of its stall. GREAT SHOW was removed from its stall and examined by the Veterinary Officer who said the horse had sustained multiple abrasions to its left hind hock and was lame in this leg. He said in his opinion GREAT SHOW was not suitable to race. Acting on this advice, the Stewards ordered the withdrawal of GREAT SHOW. Before being allowed to race again, GREAT SHOW will have to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. ABLE DRAGON was slow to begin. On jumping, PRINCE KALAMOUN was crowded for room between ICHIBAN and CLASSIC REUNION. In the early stages, PRINCE KALAMOUN proved difficult to settle. Making the turn at the 800 Metres, BEST POWER was left racing wide and without cover. For a considerable distance after straightening, PRINCE KALAMOUN, which was hanging in, had difficulty obtaining clear running. After obtaining a run approaching the 350 Metres, PRINCE KALAMOUN continued to hang in for the remainder of the race. At the 250 Metres, ICHIBAN was steadied when awkwardly placed between CLASSIC REUNION and DASHING THUNDER. Over the concluding stages, CLASSIC REUNION hung in towards the heels of PALAIS D'OR which had its head on the side and shifted slightly wider. PALAIS D'OR and CLASSIC REUNION were sent for sampling.
