Racing Incident Report

As the gates opened, SOMETHING SPECIAL reared, began awkwardly and as a consequence lost a considerable amount of ground. After passing the winning post on the first occasion, JUGGERNAUT was steadied away from the heels of UNIQUE SPEED which shifted in momentarily when not clear. After the 1200 Metres, SPEEDY WARRIOR was steadied away from the heels of UNIQUE SPEED which after crossing to the rail steadied the tempo. Also after the 1200 Metres, MASTER GUNNER got its head up when being steadied away from the heels of JUGGERNAUT. In the early and middle stages, LASKER travelled wide and without cover. Making the turn at the 600 Metres, UNIQUE SPEED became unbalanced when awkwardly placed inside SPEEDY WARRIOR which for the major part of the race hung in. Also making the turn at the 600 Metres, SPEEDY lost ground when racing tight inside MASTER GUNNER after bumping with that horse on several occasions. For a considerable distance approaching the Home Turn, SOMETHING SPECIAL was held up and unable to improve. In the early part of the Straight, SOLAR POWER had difficulty obtaining clear running and near the 100 Metres was steadied away from the heels of MASTER GUNNER. At the 150 Metres, D Whyte (SPEEDY WARRIOR) dropped his right rein. YOUNG HERO was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of YOUNG HERO after the race did not show any significant findings. VICTORY STYLE, SUPER GENKI and SPEEDY WARRIOR were sent for sampling.
