Racing Incident Report
MALAYAN BRIGHT was difficult to load. Before being allowed to race again, MALAYAN BRIGHT will have to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial. UNION’S STAR was slow to begin. At the start, MALAYAN BRIGHT shifted out and bumped SOVIET PEARL. Near the 1200 Metres, UNION’S STAR was steadied away from the heels of GREAT GUY. Near the 1100 Metres, MR TOPAZ became badly unbalanced when bumped by UNION’S STAR which, after being awkwardly placed close to the heels of GREAT GUY, improved to the inside of that horse into tight running. Approaching the first turn, TOP NEWS proved difficult to settle and was awkwardly placed close to the heels of SOVIET PEARL. After this, TOP NEWS continued to prove difficult to settle and near the 700 Metres shifted out and bumped GALLANT GALLOP. BEST POWER, which was following, got its head up and was steadied away from the heels of GALLANT GALLOP in consequence. GREAT GUY was held up for clear running in the early part of the Straight. Near the 200 Metres, QUELLE SURPRISE was brushed by THUNDER DANCING which shifted out. A veterinary inspection of UNION’S STAR after the race did not show any significant findings. After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that MALAYAN BRIGHT was making an abnormal breathing noise. A WALK IN THE PARK and GREEN JACKET were sent for sampling.
