Racing Incident Report
JUST GOOD and ZEPHYRUS were slow to begin. Apprentice C Y Ho (DOUBLE DRAGON) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that near the 1100 Metres he permitted his mount to shift in when not clear of NAMJONG FIGHTERS, causing that horse to be checked. In this incident, MISTER HORSE, which was following, was steadied away from the heels of NAMJONG FIGHTERS. Apprentice Ho was suspended from riding in races for a period to expire on Sunday, 7 November 2010 on which day he may resume race riding (3 Hong Kong racedays). The commencement of the suspension was deferred until after the Sha Tin racemeeting on Sunday, 24 October 2010. When considering penalty, the Stewards took into account the high degree of carelessness shown by Apprentice Ho in this incident. Passing the 800 Metres, NAMJONG FIGHTERS was taken into a position three wide and without cover when NAMJONG HUNTER shifted away from the fence from behind DOUBLE DRAGON. Rounding the Home Turn, MISTER HORSE raced tight between JUST GOOD and NAMJONG FIGHTERS. After the 100 Metres, NAMJONG FIGHTERS got its head on the side and shifted out. CHANTILLY, which was closing off the race well, was obliged to be steadied away from the heels of NAMJONG FIGHTERS near the 50 Metres and directed in to continue to improve. Throughout the race, TYCOON TAYLOR, CHEEKY LAD and WADASURPRISE travelled wide and without cover. A veterinary inspection of MISTER HORSE after the race did not show any significant findings. KING AL AKBAR and DOUBLE DRAGON were sent for sampling.
