Racing Incident Report

JUN QI was withdrawn on 16.10.10 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame left fore) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter PERFECT GEAR (W Pike). Before being allowed to race again, JUN QI will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. Whilst in the saddling stalls, it was noted that PERFECT GEAR had lost its left front plate. This plate was refitted. PERFECT GEAR was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon who said, in his opinion, it was suitable to race. PRIME CHAMPION was crowded for room at the start between BULLISH KING and SUPREME WIN which shifted out after being fractious in the barriers. WHITE JADE began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped the hindquarters of ENRICHED, resulting in both horses becoming badly unbalanced. In the early part of the Straight, SUPREME WIN was held up for clear running behind LITTLE BRIDGE. Near the 250 Metres, ST FEVRE was shifted to the inside of LITTLE BRIDGE to obtain clear running. Approaching the 100 Metres, TRIUMPHANT COLOURS, which was closing off the race strongly, was shifted to the outside of BULLISH KING to continue improving. Also approaching the 100 Metres, SOVIET PEARL and WHITE JADE bumped. For the majority of the race, ENRICHED travelled wide and without cover. LITTLE BRIDGE and ST FEVRE were sent for sampling.
