Racing Incident Report
HORSEFORALLSEASONS was withdrawn on 11.3.11 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame left fore) and was replaced by first Standby Declared Starter SUPREME TAIJI (G Cheyne). LOVING ALL was also withdrawn on 11.3.11 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame left fore) and was replaced by second Standby Declared Starter DIAMOND KNIGHT (O Doleuze). NATURAL FLAME was withdrawn on raceday morning by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (swollen right hind fetlock with wound). Before being allowed to race again, HORSEFORALLSEASONS, LOVING ALL and NATURAL FLAME will all be subjected to an official veterinary examination. HORSE OF FLAME proved difficult to load and then after being loaded reared up and then sat down. HORSE OF FLAME turned in the barriers and broke out over the back gates. When HORSE OF FLAME was proving fractious in the barriers, STALLION SUPREME became unsettled and also proved fractious in the barriers. STALLION SUPREME was removed from the barriers and examined by the Veterinary Officer who said it had sustained cuts to its right hind leg and therefore was not suitable to race. HORSE OF FLAME was also examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was not suitable to race. Acting on this advice, the Stewards ordered the withdrawals of both HORSE OF FLAME and STALLION SUPREME. Before being allowed to race again, HORSE OF FLAME will be required to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination while STALLION SUPREME will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. Due to the delay to the start, all horses were removed from the barriers and the starting time amended to 3:45 pm. After being removed from the barriers, G Cheyne expressed concern that SUPREME TAIJI had become stirred up due to these incidents in the barriers. SUPREME TAIJI was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was suitable to race. D DAY SUPER was checked at the start when crowded for room between MEGA CHAMPION which shifted in and FATBOY SUGAR which began awkwardly and then shifted out abruptly. FATBOY SUGAR then continued to shift out and made contact with MEGA CHAMPION. ETERNAL BEAUTY blundered at the start. A short distance after the start, TRUE VALOUR was bumped by LUCKY TURBO and then was steadied away from the heels of MY WHISKY. After this, TRUE VALOUR was taken across behind runners. Approaching the 400 Metres, SUPREME TAIJI attempted to obtain a run to the outside of DANE PATROL (Apprentice C Y Ho) which also shifted out at this time. When disappointed for this run to the outside of DANE PATROL, SUPREME TAIJI had to be checked. As the Stewards were not comfortably satisfied that SUPREME TAIJI had established proper running to the outside of DANE PATROL, the Stewards took no further action other than to severely reprimand Apprentice Ho and advise him that, wherever possible, he should attempt to keep his mounts on a straight course. FIRST IN COMMAND, which was following, was inconvenienced in consequence. At the 400 Metres, MY WHISKY, which was giving ground, was steadied away from the heels of LUCKY TURBO which shifted out. Over the final 50 Metres, SUPREME TAIJI raced in restricted room outside ETERNAL BEAUTY. After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that TRUE VALOUR was making an abnormal breathing noise. A veterinary inspection of FATBOY SUGAR after the race did not show any significant findings. ETERNAL BEAUTY, DANE PATROL and FIRST IN COMMAND were sent for sampling.
