Racing Incident Report
JERRY MAGUIRE was withdrawn on 11.4.11 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame right fore) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter TREMENDOUS ADD (W C Marwing). Before being allowed to race again, JERRY MAGUIRE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. Shortly after the start, TEAM WORK (B Prebble) blundered when crowded for room between PERFECT FIT which was taken out by MING HOI GLORY which, on jumping, got its head on the side and shifted out and SOLAR UP which, after shifting in marginally, was immediately corrected by its rider. As the Stewards were of the belief that there was no rider error involved in this incident, no further action was taken. After the race, B Prebble said that following this TEAM WORK was reluctant to stride out fully. From a wide barrier, SURFER BOY was taken across behind runners shortly after the start. Near the 800 Metres, KING OF REASON got its head up when awkwardly placed close to the heels of LUCKY LEON. Then making the turn after the 700 Metres, KING OF REASON again got its head up when awkwardly placed close to the heels of LUCKY LEON and shifted out. At the entrance to the Straight, MING HOI GLORY was shifted towards the outside of EVER BEAUTY which was commencing to give ground. After this, MING HOI GLORY was awkwardly placed close to the heels of EVER BEAUTY which got its head on the side and shifted out. MING HOI GLORY was then held up for clear running behind EVER BEAUTY until near the 200 Metres where it was shifted to the inside of the heels of that horse. PERFECT FIT, which was following MING HOI GLORY, also had difficulty obtaining clear running until near the 200 Metres. Passing the 300 Metres, LUCKY LEON was momentarily awkwardly placed close to the heels of SOLAR UP. After the 100 Metres, LUCKY LEON was momentarily awkwardly placed towards the heels of SOLAR UP. Over the concluding stages, PERFECT FIT raced in restricted room inside WINNING SCHOLAR. After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that WINNING SCHOLAR had lost its right hind plate. A veterinary inspection of MING HOI GLORY after the race did not show any significant findings. MING HOI GLORY, SOLAR UP and KING OF REASON were sent for sampling.
