Racing Incident Report

RAY’S FAVOURITE shifted in at the start, resulting in FORTUNE BUNNY being crowded for room when taken in onto GORGEOUS RULER which became unbalanced. EVER KING was slow to begin. Near the 1300 Metres, CHAMPION STAR was momentarily crowded for room inside BEAUTIFUL CHOICE which, when commencing to prove difficult to settle, shifted in when awkwardly placed close to the heels of RAY’S FAVOURITE. After this, BEAUTIFUL CHOICE over-raced and had to be checked away from the heels of RAY’S FAVOURITE for a considerable distance. Also near the 1300 Metres, DAILY DOUBLE momentarily raced tight inside LUCKY ARMY. Passing the 450 Metres, DAILY DOUBLE was awkwardly placed close to the heels of BEAUTIFUL CHOICE. Throughout the race, GORGEOUS RULER travelled wide and without cover. Whilst the Stewards were satisfied that the riding of N Callan (GORGEOUS RULER), 6th placegetter over the concluding stages did not affect the horse’s finishing position, he was nonetheless reminded of his obligation to ride his mounts out at least hands and heels to the end of the race where circumstances permit. A veterinary inspection of BEAUTIFUL CHOICE after the race revealed that the horse had sustained a cut to the back of the left knee. Before being allowed to race again, BEAUTIFUL CHOICE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection of SONOFTHEWEST after the race did not show any significant findings. LUCKY ARMY and RAY’S FAVOURITE were sent for sampling.
