Racing Incident Report

The Veterinary Officer said that LINKED WIN, which was reported to have twisted its right front plate in transit to the course, had been replated and was found suitable to race. WORLD WAY was slow to begin. SEIZE THE DAY was crowded for room at the start between CRIMSON and HEY HA MASTER which shifted out. At the 1000 Metres, BLESS US ALL was checked when crowded for room between BINGO BINGO and CAGA SPIRIT which got its head on the side and hung out. Passing the 1000 Metres, HEY HA MASTER commenced to over-race and shifted out when being checked away from the heels of GOLDEN INSIGHT. Near the 850 Metres, CAGA SPIRIT and BINGO BINGO bumped on two occasions. Approaching the 600 Metres, CAGA SPIRIT got its head on the side and proved difficult to settle when racing close to the heels of CRIMSON. Making the turn after the 600 Metres, GOLDEN INSIGHT got its head on the side and shifted out towards the heels of FASCINATING SMILE. Passing the 600 Metres, BINGO BINGO was left racing wide and without cover. Shortly after entering the Straight, CAGA SPIRIT was steadied when disappointed for running between BINGO BINGO and CRIMSON which shifted out. In this incident, CAGA SPIRIT made contact with BINGO BINGO, resulting in that horse becoming unbalanced. LINKED WIN had difficulty obtaining clear running in the early part of the Straight and near the 100 Metres was checked away from the heels of CRIMSON when unable to improve. At the 200 Metres, EASY TRACK, which was laying in, was steadied away from the heels of GOLDEN INSIGHT which was giving ground. When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of BINGO BINGO, M Chadwick stated that his mount was obliged to race further back in the field than had been intended after it became unbalanced and lost ground shortly after the start after shifting out towards the heels of FASCINATING SMILE which also shifted in. He said after this incident he was not able to obtain a position closer to the rail than three wide albeit that he had cover until after the 600 Metres. He said, in his opinion, the circumstances of tonight’s race contributed to the horse’s performance. A veterinary inspection of BINGO BINGO after the race did not show any significant findings. After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that GOLDEN INSIGHT had bled from both nostrils. FASCINATING SMILE, BLESS US ALL and SEIZE THE DAY were sent for sampling.
