Racing Incident Report

FINN MACCOOL was withdrawn on 24.9.12 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (colic) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter GERONIMO MEADOW. Before being allowed to race again, FINN MACCOOL will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
GOLD EDITION shifted in at the start and bumped the hindquarters of QUANTUM POWER.
SEA THE PEARLS became unbalanced shortly after the start when bumped by GOLD RACER.
Shortly after the start, UWILLBEGLORIOUS was steadied when crowded for room between QUANTUM POWER and CAPE CANAVERAL which shifted out.
UWILLBEGLORIOUS became unbalanced near the 1000 Metres.
Near the 900 Metres, QUANTUM POWER got its head up and proved very difficult to settle when being checked away from the heels of AEROSA.
After the 500 Metres, QUANTUM POWER was awkwardly placed close to the heels of AEROSA which was being ridden along to maintain its position.
Rounding the Home Turn, GOLD RACER got its head on the side and hung out.
After the 200 Metres, TURF MAGIC was awkwardly placed inside the heels of SEA THE PEARLS which shifted to the inside of GOLD RACER. For some distance after this, TURF MAGIC was awkwardly placed close to the heels of SEA THE PEARLS.
Throughout the race, JOYFUL LUCK travelled wide and without cover.
Trainer C Fownes explained that he instructed Apprentice C Y Ho, the rider of GREEN ZONE, to take that horse across behind runners at the start as it had hung out making the first turn at its most recent start. He said tonight, from barrier 9, he felt that if use was made of GREEN ZONE that it may again be left racing wide.
GOLD RACER, CAPE CANAVERAL and TOUR DE FORCE were sent for sampling.
