Racing Incident Report

Whilst in the saddling stalls, THEHEROINMYHEART had its left front plate refitted and SURROUNDED had its left hind plate refitted. THEHEROINMYHEART and SURROUNDED were both examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion they were suitable to race.
SICHUAN LEGEND was slow to begin and shortly after the start was crowded for room between HAPPY SEVEN and EXPECTATOR which shifted in.
BOSAMBO began very awkwardly and shifted in, resulting in SURROUNDED being crowded for room outside WILD FORCE. After this, BOSAMBO was taken across behind runners.
From a wide barrier, KINGSTON SPARTACUS was taken across behind runners shortly after the start.
Near the 1400 Metres, WILD FORCE was steadied away from the heels of BOSAMBO which shifted in when barely clear. After this, WILD FORCE proved difficult to settle.
Near the 850 Metres, BOSAMBO was awkwardly placed close to the heels of EXPECTATOR and shifted in momentarily, resulting in SICHUAN LEGEND being crowded for room.
After passing the 600 Metres, BOSAMBO was momentarily awkwardly placed close to the heels of EXPECTATOR.
Shortly after the 400 Metres, HAPPY SEVEN became unbalanced when bumped by BACKSTREET FIGHTER (H W Lai) which shifted out to obtain clear running. H W Lai was reprimanded and advised to exercise care in similar circumstances.
Rounding the Home Turn, THEHEROINMYHEART was steadied when disappointed for running between BOSAMBO and SICHUAN LEGEND which shifted out. After this, SICHUAN LEGEND had difficulty obtaining clear running until after the 300 Metres.
THEHEROINMYHEART also had difficulty obtaining clear running in the early part of the Straight.
O Doleuze (EXPECTATOR) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that near the 200 Metres he permitted his mount to shift in when not clear of SICHUAN LEGEND, causing that horse to be checked and to lose the running to which it was rightfully entitled. O Doleuze was suspended from riding in races for a period to expire on Monday, 5 November 2012 on which day he may resume race riding (2 Hong Kong racedays). This suspension shall commence on Thursday, 25 October 2012 on which day he was due to resume race riding from a suspension incurred at the Happy Valley racemeeting on Wednesday, 26 September 2012.
Near the 150 Metres, KINGSTON SPARTACUS was momentarily steadied away from the heels of SURROUNDED (B Prebble) which shifted in. B Prebble was advised to exercise more care.
Passing the 150 Metres, THEHEROINMYHEART was inconvenienced by BACKSTREET FIGHTER which shifted in.
For the majority of the race, SUISSE D’OR travelled wide and without cover.
The performances of HAPPY SEVEN, SUISSE D’OR and FUN FASTER, all of which finished tailed out, were considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, HAPPY SEVEN, SUISSE D’OR and FUN FASTER will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that PUBLIC FIGURE had lost its left front plate.
A veterinary inspection of ALL BOUNTIFUL after the race including an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of mucopus in the horse's trachea.
EXPECTATOR, SURROUNDED and KINGSTON SPARTACUS were sent for sampling.
<15/10/2012 Additional Veterinary Report> ALL BOUNTIFUL, which performed poorly, was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said at that time an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of mucopus in the horse’s trachea. ALL BOUNTIFUL was again examined by the Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer J Size this morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be lame in its left front leg. Before being allowed to race again, ALL BOUNTIFUL will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
