Racing Incident Report

On arrival at the barriers, it was noted that GALAXY PRANCER had a small amount of blood in its left nostril resulting from a small abrasion. GALAXY PRANCER was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was suitable to race.
GALAXY PRANCER was slow to begin.
CHAMPAGNE DAYS began awkwardly.
GREAT AND BEYOND was taken across behind runners shortly after the start.
Near the 1500 Metres, MIGHTY HIGH, when being ridden along, shifted in of its own accord and made contact with the running rail.
Passing the winning post on the first occasion and again near the 1300 Metres, GALAXY PRANCER was awkwardly placed inside the heels of CHAMPAGNE DAYS.
Approaching the 1100 Metres, GALAXY PRANCER commenced to prove very difficult to settle and shifted out when being steadied away from the heels of MIGHTY HIGH. Then making the turn approaching the 1000 Metres, GALAXY PRANCER again got its head up and shifted out.
After the 1100 Metres, JOLLY FINE was left racing wide and without cover and passing the 1000 Metres was allowed to stride forward into the lead.
After the 800 Metres, TRAVEL BRAND was left racing wide and without cover.
After the 500 Metres, RACING HERO lost ground when being checked away from the heels of CHATER DREAM. MIGHTY HIGH (H W Lai), which was following RACING HERO, had to be checked away from the heels of that horse in consequence and in doing so shifted out, resulting in GALAXY PRANCER being checked when crowded for room between MIGHTY HIGH and LITTLE DREAMS. As the Stewards were satisfied that H W Lai was experiencing considerable difficulty in restraining his mount away from the heels of RACING HERO, no further action was taken.
A veterinary inspection of REGENCY KING and RACING HERO immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
CHATER DREAM and LITTLE DREAMS were sent for sampling.
