Racing Incident Report
JUST GOOD began awkwardly from a wide draw and was taken across behind runners shortly after the start.
FANTASY AND GOLD (Apprentice K C Ng) began very awkwardly, knuckled over, shifted in and made heavy contact with the hindquarters of TELECOM CHIEF which became badly unbalanced. In this incident, Apprentice Ng became badly unbalanced and was almost dislodged.
Passing the 1300 Metres, TRIUMPHANT WAY was steadied away from the heels of STEP HIGH.
After the 1200 Metres, TELECOM CHIEF commenced to prove difficult to settle and was awkwardly placed close to the heels of BRILLIANT LIGHT for some distance.
Approaching the 800 Metres, BRILLIANT LIGHT shifted out when awkwardly placed close to the heels of GAIN MORE which was proving difficult to settle and being steadied away from the heels of TREASURE MAN. As a result of this, BRILLIANT LIGHT was then left racing wide and without cover.
At the 400 Metres, FANTASY AND GOLD and TELECOM CHIEF bumped.
MAGICAL BEAM had difficulty obtaining clear running approaching and passing the 200 Metres.
Over the concluding stages, GAIN MORE raced in restricted room inside STEP HIGH.
After the race, D Whyte reported that after beginning awkwardly, he shifted HIT A HOME RUN across behind runners in the early stages. He said after this the horse travelled only fairly in the run and was disappointing in the manner in which it failed to close off the race. He said that he had ridden HIT A HOME RUN in a barrier trial in the lead up to today’s race and, in his opinion, that trial was only fair. A veterinary inspection of HIT A HOME RUN immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
MAGICAL BEAM, SOLAR BOY and STEP HIGH were sent for sampling.
