Racing Incident Report
CAPE CANAVERAL was withdrawn on 16.5.14 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame right fore). Before being allowed to race again, CAPE CANAVERAL will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Whilst in the saddling stalls, RAD had its left front plate refitted. RAD was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was suitable to race.
SILVER GRECIAN and GROOVY were slow to begin.
PENIAPHOBIA and BUNDLE OF LOVE bumped at the start.
CHARITY SPIRIT proved difficult to settle when being shifted across behind runners to obtain cover in the early stages.
In the early and middle stages, BUNDLE OF LOVE raced with its head on the side and lay in.
CHARITY SPIRIT lost its right front plate near the 200 Metres.
Near the 150 Metres, ENSEMBLE was bumped by PENIAPHOBIA which got its head on the side and lay out under pressure and then near the 100 Metres was momentarily steadied away from the heels of that horse.
Passing the winning post, K Teetan (CHARITY JOY) lost the use of his whip.
PENIAPHOBIA lost its left front plate during the running of the race.
After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that CHARITY SPIRIT had bled from both nostrils.
RAD and PENIAPHOBIA were sent for sampling.
