3 1 SUPER GOLDI (H477) When questioned regarding the tactics adopted, K C Leung explained that his pre-race instructions were to endeavour to gain cover in a midfield position from his barrier, however, in the early stages a number of runners to his inside continued to go forward and he was obliged to settle further back in the field than intended or otherwise be caught extremely wide. He added that rounding the Home Turn and in the early part of the Home Straight he was unable to place his mount under pressure when held up for clear running until passing the 300 Metres.
4 14 STRATHPEFFER (H095) Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
5 8 GANGNAM STAR (H326) After passing the 900 Metres got unbalanced when tightened for room for a short distance between MANYTHANKS FOREVER which lay out and STRATHPEFFER which shifted in after being contacted on the hindquarters by GANGNAM STAR which shifted out in this incident.

12 13 VANTASTIC CHOICE (G401) After the race, A Badel reported that it was not his intention to lead, but after his mount jumped well, he made the decision to go forward rather than being caught wide. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
13 5 LE MAILLOT JAUNE (J034) After passing the 900 Metres was eased when awkwardly placed between GANGNAM STAR and STRATHPEFFER. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
WV-A 9 COMPASSION SUPER (G283) After being loaded into the barriers became fractious, reared and hit its head on the barrier partition. Removed from the barriers and examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion the horse was not suitable to race. Acting on this advice, COMPASSION SUPER was withdrawn by order of the Stewards. Before being allowed to race again, COMPASSION SUPER will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
WV HANDSOME BOMB (H402) Withdrawn on 19.1.24 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame right fore) and replaced by Standby Declared Starter EVER VICTORIOUS. Before being allowed to race again, HANDSOME BOMB will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
