Racing Incident Report

1 1 LOYAL BO BO (J011) Found to be mildly distressed after the race. Sent for sampling post-race.
2 2 ARIEL (G223) Bumped on the hindquarters shortly after the start and became unbalanced. Sent for sampling post-race.
3 3 GOLDEN DARCI (H470) No report.
4 10 SKY TRUST (J161) Jumped awkwardly and lost ground. B Shinn pleaded guilty to a careless riding charge for causing interference near the 200 Metres (see CIRCUIT MIGHTY).
5 11 SMILING COLLECTOR (G128) Shortly after the start was badly crowded for room between DOUBLE WIN which was taken out by CIRCUIT MIGHTY and ARIEL which shifted in despite the efforts of its rider.
6 7 LINK (J177) From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. When questioned, B Avdulla stated that his mount hung out from the 500 Metres and over the concluding stages he was unable to ride LINK out as he was concerned it would shift out away from the winning post.
7 5 I CAN (H381) In the early stages raced keenly and got its head up when being crossed by CIRCUIT MIGHTY.
8 12 SPICY GOLD (H440) When questioned, L Ferraris stated that from a wide barrier he was instructed to ride his mount conservatively in the early stages to ensure that it obtained cover. He stated that in the early stages when caught wide to the outside of DOUBLE WIN, he elected to come back to follow that runner to avoid covering additional ground which resulted in SPICY GOLD settling slightly further back than what he had intended. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
9 13 JOYFUL FRIENDSHIP (H295) Jumped only fairly.
10 8 TOP TOP TEA (H048) No report.
11 6 CIRCUIT MIGHTY (G078) Approaching the 1300 Metres was steadied when crowded by DOUBLE WIN which shifted out abruptly. B Shinn (SKY TRUST) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that near the 200 Metres he allowed his mount to shift out when not clear of CIRCUIT MIGHTY, resulting in CIRCUIT MIGHTY having to be checked. B Shinn was suspended from riding in races for one Hong Kong raceday to be conducted on Wednesday, 27 March 2024 at Happy Valley. In assessing penalty, the Stewards determined the carelessness grade 1 and the consequences grade 2.
12 4 HOLY POWER (H039) Jumped awkwardly and from a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
13 14 PODIUM (H173) Near the 200 Metres, when giving ground, was steadied when crowded between SMILING COLLECTOR and SPICY GOLD (L Ferraris) which shifted in before being corrected. L Ferraris was advised to exercise more care. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
14 9 DOUBLE WIN (H382) Crowded shortly after the start. Approaching the 1300 Metres, when positioned close to the heels of CIRCUIT MIGHTY, blundered, shifted out and became unbalanced. Near the 300 Metres, when giving ground, was inconvenienced by PODIUM which shifted out. Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
