Racing Incident Report

1 10 RED LION (H115) Sent for sampling post-race.
2 2 VOYAGE BUBBLE (E436) Blundered on jumping. The Stewards deferred the declaration of weighed-in as they were of the view that an incident occurred over the concluding stages which cast doubt as to whether RED LION should be declared the winner. Subsequently J McDonald, the rider of VOYAGE BUBBLE, 2nd placegetter, lodged a protest/objection against RED LION being declared the winner alleging interference over the concluding stages. After considering the evidence the Stewards found that RED LION shifted out over the concluding stages, making slight contact with VOYAGE BUBBLE, however, they could not be comfortably satisfied that had the contact not have occurred that VOYAGE BUBBLE would have finished in advance of RED LION and therefore the protest/objection was overruled and weighed-in was declared on the numbers semaphored by the Judge. Sent for sampling post-race.
3 13 SUNLIGHT POWER (H244) Noted to have blood in the mouth on arrival at the Start. Was examined by the Veterinary Officer and passed suitable to race.
4 12 MY WISH (J256) Approaching the 1000 Metres was steadied when being crossed by RED LION.
5 6 GALAXY PATCH (H399) Jumped awkwardly. From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
6 9 HAPPY TOGETHER (G446) Bumped shortly after the start.
7 5 BEAUTY JOY (E058) Near the 400 Metres was steadied and shifted to the outside of MR BRIGHTSIDE to obtain clear running. BEAUTY JOY then had difficulty obtaining clear running between the 300 Metres and the 200 Metres.
8 8 CHANCHENG GLORY (H212) Jumped awkwardly. Near the 200 Metres was shifted to the inside of ROYAL PATRONAGE to continue into clear running.
9 3 GAIA FORCE (K931) Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
10 4 BEAUTY ETERNAL (H008) Jumped only fairly and then was steadied when crowded by SUNLIGHT POWER which shifted in.
11 11 GOEMON (K934) No report.
12 7 ROYAL PATRONAGE (K932) Shortly after the start was crowded between HAPPY TOGETHER and MR BRIGHTSIDE, both of which shifted ground. Raced keenly in the early stages. After the event T Clark stated that his mount became worked up behind the starting gates, travelled only fairly during the event and did not respond to his riding in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
13 1 MR BRIGHTSIDE (K930) Bumped shortly after the start. After the event C Williams stated that his mount raced a little keenly during the race but was still disappointing in its failure to respond in the Home Straight and he could offer no excuse for the horse’s performance. Trainer B Hayes stated that the horse settled a little further back than what had been anticipated and then was disadvantaged by racing too keenly. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
