2 AMERICAN VICTORY (CD375) O Doleuze B Slow to begin, lost ground when crowded, settled wide further back than usual near last 8Ls away, lobbed along at tail to bend, angled wide turning in, sprinted hard down middle to gather them in from the 200 M for solid win.
5 MOONGLOW (CG008) E Saint-Martin B/TT Standard to begin, hard ridden to drive up and take lead, pressured in front but dictated terms to turn, 1/2L clear on turning, booted strongly at 300 M and looked the winner until last 50 M when overhauled.
7 KIWI DASH (CC281) B Prebble -- Began with them, faded back to settle worse than midfield, raced 2 wide 5Ls away, unbalanced and came 3 wide out 700 M, back between horses turning in, held up to 250 M, closed off well when clear to be nearest on line.
13 FLORAL ARTS (CE197) K L Chui V- Fair to begin, showed good early toe to hold prominent spot, raced 1 out 1 back having good run, travelled well on turn, struggled to find dash when run presented and simply closed at same pace to line.
4 CLASSIC KING (CD256) K S Yu B/TT Standard break, mustered speed to hold leaders back, had run of race using nothing in trail, on bridle approaching turn, stuck to rails in straight and stuck to task well just lacking turn of foot to threaten.
9 GLOBE RIVER (CD228) M Nunes B Fast into stride, couldn't go on and drifted back behind midfield from a wide alley, posted 3 wide with cover 5Ls down, forced 4 wide without cover on bend, close enough on turning in but showed only a one-paced effort to line.
6 MURCIELAGO (CE004) G Mosse B Began well, urged along to press forward, posted 3 wide without cover, always working in mid-section and moved up to challenge turning in, threatened leader to 200 M but run ended late when workload took toll.
12 FLASH HARRY (CB180) R Fradd SR Average to begin, slotted in to midfield role 5Ls away on rails, proved difficult to settle and angled 2 wide on bend, in traffic on straightening and made some headway when clear but never really threatened.
10 NATIVE LANGUAGE (CB116) S Dye B Jumped well enough, drifted back towards rear from wide alley, raced 2 wide 7Ls off pace in mid-section, tracked 3 wide on bend, still well back turning in, closed off only moderately down centre of track.
8 RAINBOW EXPRESS (CE144) F Coetzee B- Began with them, took trail behind early speed, raced 2 wide 3Ls away between horses, not asked in mid-section, in traffic to 300 M, did nothing when clear running presented and plugged to line.
1 AMBITIOUS LEADER (CC082) P H Lo B/TT Tardy to begin, niggled along and regathered to take up spot 3Ls back on rails, on bit in mid-section, saved ground on bend and kept to inside in straight, made little impression in straight.
3 ISLAND SPIRIT (CD014) A Delpech -- Broke nicely from wide alley, unable to slot in and restrained to midfield to find cover, raced 3 wide 3Ls down, enjoyed nice trail to straight, there to 200 M but weakened out late. (Bled.)
11 MODERN PROSPECT (CC070) K T Yeung -- Jumped with line, faded back to tail from awkward draw, race 7Ls from pace on rails, improved 2 wide between horses, clear run presented at 300 M but unable to find another gear and struggled away to finish.
14 ZABEEL VICTORY (CE101) H W Lai -- Showed speed from gates, pressed on to take up position outside of leader, pressured leader with slow pace set, niggled along turning in, gave ground quickly in straight and weakened right out to be well beaten.
