1 DARE TO WIN (CG099) C W Wong SB Driven to lead on fence at 1300 M, about 1L clear from 800 M to home turn, skipped 2Ls ahead at the 200 M and always in charge.
7 CHINOOK (CC108) K L Chui B Driven along early to hold a 3-back on fence position about 4Ls off pace in 6th, about 3Ls back in 5th off final bend, no chance with winner but stayed on okay for 2nd.
9 GLORIOUS RHYTHM (CC163) D Whyte V 4-back on fence about 5Ls off pace in 8th at 1000 M, edged a little closer going well taking home turn, every chance of running 2nd but was outstayed by CHINOOK.
11 SNIPER (CD110) Y T Cheng B/XB Bumped rail and unbalanced at 1300 M when about 9Ls back in rear, about 6Ls back in 10th off final turn, made minor late ground along the inner to be nearest at finish.
6 DRAGON STRIDE (CC370) O Doleuze -- Box run on fence 2Ls off pace in 3rd until home turn, given every hope of at least a place but lacked the turn of foot.
8 CHAMPION PIONEER (CG305) S Dye BO Dropped out 10Ls last at the 1000 M, about 8Ls last swinging for home, ran on past a few late to be nearest at the line.
2 VINTAGE GOLD (CG094) D Nikolic CP1 2-wide and 6Ls back in 9th or so at 1000 M and similarly placed turning for home, switched right into clear running at 250 M but made no inroads.
5 SUPER BALL (CD064) F Coetzee B 3-wide no cover early on and pressed on to go 2-wide and 1L back in 2nd at 1000 M, hard pressed to maintain this position off home turn and petered out.
10 SILLY BOY (CC094) K T Yeung B/TT 1L off pace in 3rd early on, settled about 2Ls or 3Ls back out 2-wide in 4th from 800 M to home straight, found nothing off the bit.
3 KEY WINNER (CG157) G Mosse B- Always outpaced, in the rear bunch and no better than 7Ls from the front at any stage.
4 CHINA HERO (CH040) A Delpech -- Never travelled well, close enough early when 3Ls pace in 5th with cover, came under pressure at 500 M and giving ground off final turn, faded further.
12 WATCHMAN (CB327) H W Lai B/SR Caught 3-wide no cover down the back straight in midfield about 3Ls or 4Ls from the speed, 4-wide off final turn when hard ridden, dropped out sharply.
