12 WINNING REWARD (CE254) H W Lai B Slowly into stride, drifted back to rear, settled 8Ls back on rails but made good ground to be 3 to 4Ls down at mid-point, tracked well on bend and gained dream split at 150 M, dashed nicely to lead at 100 M and hold them well.
7 GREAT ACHIEVEMENT (CD250) D Nikolic TT Moderate getaway, raced 2-wide behind midfield, had an easy time 6 to 8Ls back throughout, still well back and in traffic on bend, held up after turning in but closed hard when clear last 150 M. Should be closer.
8 CALIFORNIAMOUNTAIN (CG310) C W Wong TT Away well, mustered plenty of dash to cross them by first bend, kept on at a decent clip early before backing off at mid-point, dictated to be 1L clear entering straight, fought to 100 M but run ended late.
1 GOODY (CD239) K L Chui -- Average getaway, taken down to rails to race behind midfield 6Ls away, had a quiet time in mid-section, back in traffic on bend and had no clear running to near 100 M, finished hard when clear. Unlucky not to be placed.
11 NOBLE HEART (CC355) A Delpech B/TT Lacked pace from outside and was restrained from a wide alley, lobbed along at rear 2-wide 8Ls back, still trailed passing rock, swung 5-wide turning in, made up plenty of ground from too far back.
2 LIBERAL'S CHOICE (CC345) B Prebble -- Began nicely, assumed a forward role as expected, had ideal run in 2-wide line 3 to 4Ls off pace, in pocket 2Ls down turning, clear run presented but only closed at same speed sticking on soundly to line.
5 ELEGANT WIN (CG297) O Doleuze -- Away in line, taken hold of to slot into running line in midfield, raced 5Ls off pace in 7th, didn't seem comfortable in going, made a 3-wide run past Rock, close enough at 200 M but produced a one-paced finish.
10 WIN AGAIN (CD371) M Nunes B Even jump, had enough pace to hold a spot on rails behind lead group, switched out and raced 2 to 3-wide 4Ls back, had no cover from mid-point and worked hard to be 2Ls down on bend, flat out turning and faded when run ended at 100 M.
4 RUM SHOT (CE206) M W Leung V-/B2 Ordinary getaway and failed to muster, ended up further back than expected 3 to 4-wide midfield 6Ls back, kept making ground 4-wide without cover, 2-3Ls back under pressure on turn, couldn't go on when workload took toll and dropped out
3 DORDENMA (CE333) D Whyte XB Average beginning, crossed to rearward spot from a wide alley, tracked 3-wide 8Ls down in mid-section, came 4-wide past Rock, switched out in straight but finished at same speed making little progress last 200 M.
6 INDUSTRIAL SUCCESS (CC317) Y T Cheng -- Began with first few, held a spot behind the leader on rails, had a reasonable trip 2Ls away, saved ground on bend under pressure turning but found little and dropped right out late.
9 GUNG HO (CE020) W M Lai B First into stride, engaged in battle for front, ended up outside leader 1L back, did share of work facing breeze, had pressure on rounding bend, found little when asked and weakened tamely. (Blood in trachea.)
