2 1 JADE DRAGONFLY (CE331) M Du Plessis BO/TT Standard jump, ended up 5Ls away in 2 wide line, had a fair run throughout, improved inside horses on circle, came with promising run at 250 M and levelled up but went down by a narrow margin late.
3 12 CRYSTAL (CE209) K C Leung B First to hit ground, went on with it and took up running, set pace to suit 1L clear, kept increasing speed from 500 M, defied rivals to 200 M when overhauled, battled gamely once headed for a respectable 3rd.
4 11 KING FAY FAY (CH089) D Whyte -- Away with them, took a trail 3Ls back behind pace, enjoyed run of race in mid-section, made run at 400 M, kept giving in straight but could not find extra last bit.
5 14 BEST POWER (CG006) H W Lai TT Standard jump, back in rearward division 7Ls away, aided by even tempo, had huge task on bend, searching for runs turning and held up to 300 M, made many lengths between horses to finish an unlucky 5th.
6 3 STOLEN THUNDER (CJ003) Z Purton B-/H- No pace from outset, settled behind midfield 5 or more lengths back on fence, enjoyed an easy time to bend, improved between horses at 400 M, closed nicely final 200 M to be nearest on line.
7 2 ABOVE ALL (CJ215) B Prebble -- Taken back from a wide alley, settled with two behind 7Ls away in 2 wide line, improved 3 wide on circle, switched widest in straight and made many lengths concluding stages.
8 13 FOREST FOUNTAIN (CJ047) C W Wong -- Out in line, ended up 3 wide 3 to 4Ls back with cover, did share of work covering extra ground, urged along on turning, kept giving despite not really threatening and was not far away in finish.
9 4 HIGH INTELLIGENT (CD317) E Saint-Martin B/TT Began with rest, positioned well on fence 3 to 4Ls away, not asked in mid-section, saved ground on rails turning, just closed at same pace in straight.
10 7 MAVERICK (CE199) O Doleuze TT Ordinary getaway, soon sharing rear 8Ls away much further back than usual, always well back to bend, set impossible task but did pass some tired runners late. (See Racing Incidents.)
11 5 MOMENTOUS (CJ238) S K Sit -- Standard jump, ended up in midfield 3 wide 6Ls away, drifted back on circle, urged along on turning, produced only a moderate close and struggled late.
12 8 MERIDIAN PRIDE (CH057) G Mosse B Well enough to begin, pressed on but caught 3 wide without cover 2Ls away, used plenty of petrol to bend, couldn't sustain effort and soon folded passing 300 M. (Mucopus.)
13 6 WINNING FELLOWSHIP (CG146) D Beadman TT No pace from outset, sharing rear more than 8Ls away, not asked to improve until turn, made wide run from 400 M but showed little and stayed rearward in run to line.
14 10 SUPER CHARGE (CC299) M L Yeung B Fast away, took up a spot outside leader, didn't have it easy with even speed on, pushed along turning, soon in trouble and gave ground quickly.
