Background:
Hideyuki Mori was the first Japanese trainer to saddle a winner at the Hong Kong International Races, when Fujiyama Kenzan took the then named Hong Kong International Cup in 1995. He took out his licence in 1993 and built a strong reputation for testing his horses in races overseas. In 1993, he won the Prix Maurice de Gheest at Deauville with Seeking The Pearl. He won a pair of Group 3 races this year with Jasper Krone.
