Racing Incident Report

Whilst in the saddling stalls, BOY OH BOY had its left hind plate adjusted. BOY OH BOY was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was suitable to race. After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that BOY OH BOY had lost its right hind plate.
BOY OH BOY began awkwardly and shortly after the start was steadied after racing tight between SICHUAN EXEC and NIGHTLIGN which shifted out. In this incident, BOY OH BOY and SICHUAN EXEC made contact on a number of occasions, resulting in both horses becoming unbalanced.
From a wide barrier, HOW SPEEDY was taken across behind runners shortly after the start.
After the 900 Metres, BOY OH BOY commenced to travel keenly and making the turn near the 850 Metres got its head on the side and shifted out towards the heels of NIGHTLIGN.
Making the turn near the 850 Metres, HOW SPEEDY became unbalanced after shifting in and bumping BORN TO WIN on a number of occasions.
LET ME GO, WADAPLEASURE and HEARTLAND were held up for clear running in the early part of the Straight.
BERNARD’S CHOICE was held up for clear running in the early part of the Straight and passing the 300 Metres was again momentarily held up for clear running behind TAI PO FORTUNE which was giving ground.
BOY OH BOY was unable to obtain clear running until passing the 200 Metres.
Passing the 200 Metres, HAPPY HOMING, which was commencing to give ground, was steadied when crowded for room between BOY OH BOY and JADE PIPPO, both of which shifted ground.
Passing the 150 Metres, SICHUAN EXEC shifted out under pressure. HOW SPEEDY, which was racing to the outside of that horse, shifted out and away from SICHUAN EXEC at this time.
Near the 50 Metres, SIGHT BELIEVER was checked after getting its head on the side and shifting in across the heels of REGENCY CHAMPION of its own accord.
A veterinary inspection of LET ME GO immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
SICHUAN EXEC and HOW SPEEDY were sent for sampling.
