Racing Incident Report

BINGO KEY, which was leaning on the outside of its stall as the start was effected, was slow to begin. Shortly after the start, TELECOM NEW STAR and ASTROKID raced tight inside PLANET. After the 1000 Metres, MR AWARD and HEY HA MASTER raced tight inside EXCELLENT WIN which was taken in by INFALLIBLE CHOICE (G Mossé) which shifted in when not properly clear. G Mossé was reprimanded and advised to ensure that he is sufficiently clear when shifting ground in similar circumstances. After the 800 Metres, HEY HA MASTER was left racing wide and without cover and approaching the 700 Metres became unbalanced when bumped on the hindquarters by DUKE’S VICTORY. Making the turn after the 700 Metres, MR AWARD got its head on the side and hung out and then after the 600 Metres was awkwardly placed close to the heels of EXCELLENT WIN. Passing the 400 Metres, PLANET was awkwardly placed close to the heels of NOT QUITE PERFECT when being shifted to the outside of that horse. After the 100 Metres, EXCELLENT WIN got its head on the side and shifted out. G Mossé reported that INFALLIBLE CHOICE hung in throughout the race, particularly so in the Straight. When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of ASTROKID, D Whyte said that after being crossed by ASMODAI in the early stages, ASTROKID, after being ridden along in the early stages, then travelled keenly and was awkwardly placed close to the heels of ASMODAI for some distance. He said after this ASTROKID travelled only fairly and in the Straight did not close off the race. A veterinary inspection of ASTROKID after the race including an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, ASTROKID will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. After the race, an endoscopic examination was conducted on INFALLIBLE CHOICE at the request of Trainer R Gibson. The Veterinary Surgeon said this examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, INFALLIBLE CHOICE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. ASTROKID, EXCELLENT WIN and PLANET were sent for sampling.
<14/11/2011 Additional Veterinary Report>After the race, an endoscopic examination was conducted on LOTS OF FUN at the request of Trainer K W Lui.
