Racing Incident Report
SUPREME CLASS was slow to begin. SURVEY SURVEY began awkwardly, shifted in and bumped the hindquarters of TOWN OF FIONN. ROCK N ROLL KID began awkwardly. At the 1200 Metres, SURVEY SURVEY was checked when crowded for room between GOLD STRIKER and SUPREME CLASS (F Coetzee) which shifted in when not properly clear. F Coetzee was reprimanded and told to exercise greater care. Also at the 1200 Metres, CROWN'S MASTER was steadied away from the heels of PALACE GENERAL (K S Tam) which shifted in when not properly clear. K S Tam was advised to exercise greater care. After the 1200 Metres, SAFETY INVESTMENTS was steadied when momentarily awkwardly placed between SURVEY SURVEY and ROCK N ROLL KID. Near the 700 Metres, SEA OF JEWELS and PLANET RULER raced tight. On straightening, SUPREME CLASS was carried wider by SURVEY SURVEY which shifted out into clear running. For a considerable distance after straightening, GOODY was awkwardly placed close to the heels of TOWN OF FIONN. In the Straight, SURVEY SURVEY hung in. Prior to the winning post, GOLD STRIKER was steadied away from the heels of TIBER which was carried wider by CROWN'S MASTER which shifted ground while hanging. For the major part of the race, ROCK N ROLL KID travelled wide and without cover. F Coetzee (SUPREME CLASS) explained after being slow to begin, he was required to make use of his mount to obtain a forward position as instructed. He said as a consequence of this SUPREME CLASS which was today dropping back in distance from 2000 Metres failed to finish the race off and was disappointing. PLANET RULER and SUPREME CLASS were sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of PLANET RULER and SUPREME CLASS after the race did not show any significant findings. GOLD STRIKER, CROWN'S MASTER and TIBER were sent for sampling. After the race, it was reported TOWN OF FIONN had lost its left front plate.
