Racing Incident Report

SOUTHERN LEGEND was withdrawn on 18.11.17 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (blood abnormality). Before being allowed to race again, SOUTHERN LEGEND will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Shortly after the start, BAD BOY was crowded for room between DASHING FELLOW and PENIAPHOBIA which shifted in after initially racing tight inside NOT LISTENIN’TOME.
From the outside barrier, MR STUNNING was steadied and shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Approaching the 1100 Metres, BAD BOY got its head up when being steadied to obtain cover.
Approaching and passing the 900 Metres, DASHING FELLOW got its head up when being steadied to allow PENIAPHOBIA (M Chadwick) to cross. After being crossed by PENIAPHOBIA which shifted in when not quite clear. DASHING FELLOW was awkwardly placed close to the heels of that horse. LUCKY BUBBLES, which was following, got its head up when being checked away from the heels of DASHING FELLOW and in turn shifted out, causing AMAZING KIDS to be momentarily crowded for room inside MR STUNNING. M Chadwick was severely reprimanded and advised to ensure that he is properly clear when shifting ground and that he does not reduce the tempo of races such that horses and riders behind him are afforded the opportunity to adjust to the change of tempo.
After the 800 Metres, BAD BOY was left racing wide and without cover.
Passing the 700 Metres, AMAZING KIDS got its head up when racing in restricted room between MR STUNNING and LUCKY BUBBLES which shifted out away from the heels of DASHING FELLOW.
For some distance after the 600 Metres, LUCKY BUBBLES got its head up when travelling keenly and awkwardly placed close to the heels of DASHING FELLOW. LUCKY BUBBLES was then held up for clear running behind DASHING FELLOW rounding the Home Turn and in the early part of the Straight.
AMAZING KIDS was held up for clear running from on straightening until passing the 300 Metres.
D B PIN was badly held up for clear running in the early part of the Straight.
Passing the 300 Metres, LUCKY BUBBLES was checked when crowded for room between DASHING FELLOW which shifted out marginally and D B PIN (O Doleuze) which shifted in briefly when again badly held up for clear running and awkwardly placed behind NOT LISTENIN’TOME. O Doleuze was reprimanded and advised that whilst he had immediately taken corrective measures to relieve the tightening to LUCKY BUBBLES, nonetheless he had allowed his mount to shift in which had caused momentary crowding to LUCKY BUBBLES. LUCKY BUBBLES then remained held up for clear running and shifted back to the inside of DASHING FELLOW and passing the 150 Metres raced tight inside DASHING FELLOW which raced tight inside D B PIN which improved into tight running between DASHING FELLOW and NOT LISTENIN’TOME. LUCKY BUBBLES was then unable to obtain clear running over the concluding stages and was not able to be tested.
LUCKY BUBBLES, MR STUNNING and AMAZING KIDS were sent for sampling.
