Racing Incident Report
On the way to the Start, GOLDEN AIR made contact with a rail. After arriving at the gates, the horse was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon who said in his opinion it was suitable to race. GOLD CHARM was withdrawn on 5.10.01 on veterinary grounds (high temperature) and replaced by Standby Declared Starter EASY STAR. BLACK MAGIC was also withdrawn on 5.10.01 on veterinary grounds (coughing). When the gates opened, ASIAN EXPRESS bounded in the air. TOP QUALITY jumped awkwardly and bumped the inside of its stall. About the 800 Metres, SONIC was awkwardly placed between DASHING WINNER and ASIAN EXPRESS. About the 700 Metres, ASIAN EXPRESS was steadied to avoid TRAVELLER STAR which shifted in when barely clear. Approaching and rounding the Home Turn, ASIAN EXPRESS hung out. In the Straight, SONIC had a tendency to hang out. About the 200 Metres, EASY STAR was steadied and shifted to the outside of ASIAN EXPRESS to find running and go forward.
