Racing Incident Report

SEASONS KNACK and FAT CHANCE were slow to begin. Making the first turn, PACIFIC ALLIANCE was checked when crowded for room outside PRETTY TRIO which shifted out slightly when racing close to the heels of STEP FORWARD and TEMMOKU which at this time got its head on the side and momentarily shifted in slightly. As a consequence of this incident, inconvenience was caused to SUPER WONGCHOY, PERFETTO and FAT CHANCE which were steadied when racing behind PACIFIC ALLIANCE. From a gate towards the outside, SHABU SHABU raced wide and without cover throughout and in the Straight gave ground. At the 500 Metres, TEMMOKU was bumped by PRETTY TRIO which was shifting out into clear running. After the 200 Metres, MILLENNIUM SPIRIT was steadied and shifted to the outside of TEMMOKU to continue going forward. SMART CHIEF was sent for a clinical veterinary examination. A veterinary examination of SMART CHIEF after the race did not show any significant findings. PRETTY TRIO, TEMMOKU and MILLENNIUM SPIRIT were sent for sampling.
Additional Veterinary Reports (released on 24 May 2004)
SMART CHIEF, which performed poorly, was examined by the Senior Veterinary Officer. He said at that time there were no significant findings. SMART CHIEF was again examined by the Head of Veterinary Regulation & International Liaison at the stables of Trainer J Moore yesterday morning. He said at this time the horse was found to be lame in the right front leg. Before being allowed to race again, SMART CHIEF will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
