Racing Incident Report

KAISER'S PRIZE was slow to begin. SOLAR was slow to begin, then shortly afterwards was checked when bumped by GOODWOOD which itself knuckled and then was carried in by FAIR WIN which shifted in after being bumped by YELLOW DIAMOND. As a consequence, GOODWOOD got back in the field. On jumping, CROWNED GEM shifted in and bumped FANTASTIC STAR which itself was bumped by BRAVE KNIGHT which shifted out. In the early stages, ADD THE FUN proved difficult to settle. Making the Home Turn, ADD THE FUN hung out, then on straightening was bumped by FAIR WIN which shifted out. After the 300 Metres, GOODWOOD was steadied when having difficulty obtaining clear running inside BRAVE KNIGHT and behind ADD THE FUN. G Schofield (SOLAR) said the bump his mount had received at the start was of some significance and after this the horse was reluctant to stride out. He said he had to ride SOLAR to keep in touch with the field, in the Straight he shifted to the outside and despite finishing well back the horse over the concluding stages finished the race off fairly. He said following the race he recommenced to the trainer that consideration be given to increasing the distance of SOLAR's races where the tempo in the early section will not be as quick. SOLAR was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of SOLAR after the race did not show any significant findings. FAIR WIN, YELLOW DIAMOND and PICTURE PERFECT were sent for sampling.
