Racing Incident Report
SHINING LIGHT was slow to begin, then lost further ground after making contact with FUN CRUISER. MAXIMUM JOY was slow to begin. GIFTED RUNNER began awkwardly, bumped the inside gate of its stall and lost ground. CITY GLORY began awkwardly, causing H K Yim, its rider, to become unbalanced. At the 800 Metres, PLEASURE PLEASURE was steadied away from the heels of GOLDEN MILE (Apprentice C K Tong) which itself steadied after reaching the lead. Apprentice Tong was told to exercise care. Making the turn at the 700 Metres, FUN CRUISER bumped the running rail when being steadied away from the heels of HAPPY ALL AROUND (K S Yu) which shifted in when not properly clear. K S Yu was reprimanded and told to exercise more care. After the 200 Metres, THE FACULTY had some difficulty obtaining clear running behind GOLDEN MILE which was giving ground. Just prior to the winning post, NATURAL MODEL was shifted out when awkwardly placed close to the heels of CITY GLORY. In the Straight, CITY GLORY got its head on the side and was inclined to hang in. For the major part of the race, NATURAL MODEL travelled wide and without cover. Apprentice K W Tsui (WIN FORTUNE) said he had been instructed to ride the horse in a forward position if possible. He said WIN FORTUNE travelled in a prominent position, however, at the 400 Metres when asked for an effort the horse did not respond. He was unable to offer any explanation for the poor performance of WIN FORTUNE. WIN FORTUNE was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of WIN FORTUNE after the race did not show any significant findings. TRIUMPHANT GLORY and PLEASURE PLEASURE were sent for sampling. After the race, it was reported THE FACULTY had bled from both nostrils.
