Racing Incident Report

Shortly after the start, SPLENDOUR GOLD was steadied when crowded for room between WEALTHY TREASURE which was carried in slightly by KING ENCOSTA and BULB KING which was carried out by CANNONISE. Approaching the 200 Metres, CHATER POWER was steadied when having difficulty obtaining clear running between CLASSA FOR EVER and CANNONISE. For the major part of the race, FIFTY FIFTY travelled wide and without cover. When questioned, O Doleuze (BRAMBLE BLITZ) said from a wide draw he was instructed to take the horse across behind runners. He said he rode in accordance with those instructions and followed the fence into the Home Straight where he rode along vigorously hands and heels. He said BRAMBLE BLITZ responded well to his riding, commenced to close the race off strongly, however, after the 100 Metres he initially steadied and shifted out away from the heels of CLASSA FOR EVER which was giving ground, then prior to the winning post checked to avoid the heels of CHATER POWER which shifted in slightly. O Doleuze was told to ensure he rides his mounts in a manner which is not open to query. Apprentice C W Wong (TRAVEL CONSULTANT) said after straightening he rode his mount along, after the 200 Metres steadied and shifted in to avoid the heels of SPLENDOUR GOLD which was giving ground. He said TRAVEL CONSULTANT then hung in and proved difficult for him to ride, however, did close the race off fairly. D Nikolic (MASTER POWER) said from the outside draw in a race which was anticipated would be run at a slow tempo, he was instructed to take the horse back to avoid being caught wide. He said MASTER POWER travelled fairly and in the middle stages was awkwardly placed behind WEALTHY TREASURE which was not travelling well. He said on straightening he steadied and shifted out away from the heels of WEALTHY TREASURE and endeavoured to ensure MASTER POWER which was laying in was properly balanced while riding it along hands and heels. He said near the 100 Metres when closing the race off strongly, MASTER POWER again shifted in towards the heels of FIFTY FIFTY, obliging him to straighten his mount. He said after this MASTER POWER closed the race off strongly when being ridden out. EVERY TIME was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of EVERY TIME after the race did not show any significant findings. KING ENCOSTA and CANNONISE were sent for sampling.
