Racing Incident Report

M Nunes (SECRET OF KINGS), A Delpech (CHATER SILK), C K Tong (LIAOBUQI), B Prebble (TOP SCORER) and Apprentice H W Lai (KING HOGAN) were late entering the Parade Ring. As M Nunes, A Delpech, C K Tong and Apprentice Lai had not been spoken to regarding this matter previously, each was severely reprimanded. As B Prebble had previously been spoken to regarding being late entering the Parade Ring, he was fined $2,000. Near the 1200 Metres, TOP SCORER was inconvenienced by PACKING WINNER (D Whyte) which shifted out after being crossed by LIAOBUQI. D Whyte was told to exercise care. After this, TOP SCORER proved difficult to settle. After the 1100 Metres, NICE KING was inconvenienced and steadied to avoid the heels of TOP SCORER which momentarily shifted in. After the 1000 Metres, CHATER SILK, which was racing in a wide position, got its head up when being steadied to be taken across behind runners at the rear. After the 600 Metres, KING HOGAN was steadied and shifted to the outside of BEING FAMOUS. TOP SCORER made the Home Turn awkwardly and shifted wider on the track. Prior to straightening, BEING FAMOUS was bumped and carried wider by NICE KING which at this time shifted towards the outside of TOP SCORER. At the 350 Metres, PRIME DELIGHT was shifted to the outside of LIAOBUQI to continue going forward. After the 300 Metres, CHATER SILK had some difficulty obtaining clear running between FREEBIRD and NICE KING. Throughout the race, BEING FAMOUS travelled wide and without cover. PACKING WINNER and PRIME DELIGHT were sent for sampling. After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported NICE KING had sustained a cut wound to the right hind heel.
