Racing Incident Report
On arrival at the Start, HIGH POINT had its left front plate refitted. HIGH POINT was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was suitable to race. PERFECT STYLE was slow to begin. On jumping, ROYAL FLUSH, which was slow to begin, was steadied and lost ground when crowded for room between NORMAN INVADER and CANNONISE which shifted out. In this incident, ROYAL FLUSH bumped the hindquarters of NORMAN INVADER which became unbalanced. Shortly after the start, DIAMOND BRILLIANCE shifted in and bumped BRILLIANT CHAPTER. Also shortly after the start, DOUBLE LUCK was steadied away from the heels of OUR LUCKY BABY which shifted out. Entering the Back Straight, WATCH WHAT HAPPENS commenced to prove difficult to settle and shifted out when being checked away from the heels of HIGH POINT. For some distance after this, WATCH WHAT HAPPENS continued to prove difficult to settle. Near the 550 Metres, CANNONISE was steadied away from the heels of NORMAN INVADER (M Chadwick) which shifted in when not quite clear. DIAMOND BRILLIANCE and HIGH POINT, which were following CANNONISE, were hampered in consequence. M Chadwick was severely reprimanded and advised to ensure that he is at least two lengths clear when shifting ground in future. Near the 250 Metres, DOUBLE LUCK was steadied and shifted in when disappointed for running between CANNONISE and NORMAN INVADER which shifted out when commencing to weaken. After this, DOUBLE LUCK had difficulty obtaining clear running for a short distance. A veterinary inspection of NORMAN INVADER after the race did not show any significant findings. OUR LUCKY BABY and DIM SUM were sent for sampling.
