Racing Incident Report

TONBRIDGE and YUE LU TREASURE were crowded for room at the start between FORTUNE WINNER and ENABLING, both of which shifted ground. Shortly after the start, SUPER STRIKE and REGENCY WINNER raced in restricted room inside TRES MAGNIFIQUE which shifted in after being bumped by OWNERS’ GLORY. From the outside barrier, VIGOR DELIGHT was taken across behind runners shortly after the start. Passing the winning post on the first occasion, VIGOR DELIGHT was awkwardly placed close to the heels of TONBRIDGE. Near the 1300 Metres, YUE LU TREASURE and VIGOR DELIGHT bumped on a number of occasions as YUE LU TREASURE attempted to shift in to obtain cover behind TONBRIDGE. Near the 600 Metres, TONBRIDGE and YUE LU TREASURE raced tight as TONBRIDGE shifted to the outside of OWNERS’ GLORY. At the entrance to the Straight, TONBRIDGE was steadied away from the heels of OWNERS’ GLORY (W M Lai) which shifted out to improve. W M Lai was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances. Shortly after entering the Straight, SUPER STRIKE raced tight between TONBRIDGE and YUE LU TREASURE. Near the 150 Metres, REGENCY WINNER momentarily raced tight between INDIGO WAY and TRES MAGNIFIQUE which got its head on the side and shifted in. Throughout the race, FORTUNE WINNER travelled wide and without cover. After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that YUE LU TREASURE had lost its right hind plate. A veterinary inspection of INTERCHINA STAR after the race did not show any significant findings. INDIGO WAY, ENABLING and VIGOR DELIGHT were sent for sampling.
<19/4/2012 Additional Veterinary Report> INTERCHINA STAR, which performed poorly, was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said at that time there were no significant findings. INTERCHINA STAR was again examined by the Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer S Woods this morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be lame in the left front leg. Before being allowed to race again, INTERCHINA STAR will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
