Racing Incident Report

FULL STAR and MIRAGE R were checked at the start when crowded for room between BULLISH POWER which shifted in and TELECOM GOGO which shifted out abruptly. In this incident, BULLISH POWER became unbalanced when bumped on the hindquarters by MIRAGE R.
From a wide barrier, NOBLE FLIER was taken across behind runners shortly after the start.
Shortly after the start, HUMONGUS was steadied away from the heels of DANESOUTH when bumped by SMART GUY which in turn shifted in after being bumped by WATCH FIRST which got its head on the side and shifted in away from POTENTIAL.
Passing the 850 Metres, DANESOUTH was steadied away from the heels of SMART GUY.
Shortly after entering the Straight, KING OF FISH II was shifted in away from the heels of HAPPY EAGLE which was commencing to give ground. A short distance later, KING OF FISH II raced in restricted room between FULL STAR and HAPPY EAGLE.
Passing the 350 Metres, MIRAGE R was momentarily crowded for room between POTENTIAL and HUMONGUS which got its head on the side and shifted in.
DANESOUTH had difficulty obtaining clear running until near the 250 Metres.
Approaching the 200 Metres, TELECOM GOGO was struck across the nose by the whip of B Prebble (NOBLE FLIER).
Near the 150 Metres, KING OF FISH II was crowded for room between SILENT DEMAND and HAPPY EAGLE which shifted in when continuing to give ground.
Over the concluding stages, BULLISH POWER shifted out under pressure.
H W Lai (FULL STAR) was fined a sum of $2,000 for raising his whip arm above shoulder height.
For the major part of the race, POTENTIAL travelled wide and without cover and in the Straight gave ground.
The performance of MEDIC CHAMPION, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, MEDIC CHAMPION will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
A veterinary inspection of POTENTIAL and MEDIC CHAMPION after the race did not show any significant findings.
WATCH FIRST, BULLISH POWER and FULL STAR were sent for sampling.
<15/10/2012 Additional Veterinary Report>MEDIC CHAMPION, which finished tailed out, was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said at that time there were no significant findings. MEDIC CHAMPION was again examined by the Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer A T Millard this morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be lame in its left front leg. As previously advised, MEDIC CHAMPION will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination before being allowed to race again.
