Racing Incident Report

BET ON ME began awkwardly.
EVER INVINCIBLE was slow to begin.
From the outside barrier, DANEWIN TIGER was taken across behind runners shortly after the start.
After the 1200 Metres, DANEWIN TIGER (Y T Cheng) got its head up when being steadied. DANEWIN TIGER then commenced to over-race badly and for some distance got its head up repeatedly when being checked away from the heels of CAGA SPIRIT which itself was proving difficult to settle when awkwardly placed close to the heels of WILD FORCE. Y T Cheng reported that when DANEWIN TIGER commenced to prove difficult to settle, his saddle shifted back marginally.
Also after the 1200 Metres, WINSOME momentarily raced tight inside GOOD HONG KONG which was taken in by WILD FORCE which got its head on the side and lay in.
C W Wong (BESPOKE MASTER) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that near the 1100 Metres he permitted his mount to shift in when not clear of WILD FORCE, causing that horse to be checked and in turn taken in onto GOOD HONG KONG, resulting in GOOD HONG KONG being taken across the rightful running of WINSOME which as a result was checked. C W Wong was suspended from riding in races for a period to expire on Thursday, 6 December 2012 on which day he may resume race riding (2 Hong Kong racedays). The commencement of the suspension was deferred until after the Happy Valley racemeeting on Wednesday, 28 November 2012.
After the 700 Metres, CAGA SPIRIT got its head up on a number of occasions when racing close to the heels of QUIET CONFIDENCE.
Rounding the Home Turn, DANEWIN TIGER got its head up when being shifted out from behind CAGA SPIRIT.
For the majority of the race, QUIET CONFIDENCE travelled wide and without cover.
The performance of BESPOKE MASTER, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, BESPOKE MASTER will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
When questioned, D Whyte stated that he was under no specific instructions on how to ride KING HARADASUN. He said when discussing the matter with the horse’s trainer, Mr J Size, it was agreed that KING HARADASUN does not have early gate speed, however, he should attempt to go forward on KING HARADASUN if it showed sufficient speed. He said he rode his mount positively in the early stages, however, it soon became apparent to him that he would have to make considerable use of KING HARADASUN were it to obtain a position closer to the fence as there was a considerable number of horses positioned to the inside of KING HARADASUN. He said as QUIET CONFIDENCE had gone forward in its races on previous occasions, he elected to shift KING HARADASUN behind QUIET CONFIDENCE and follow that horse. He said however that QUIET CONFIDENCE was not ridden for speed in today’s race and rather than continue to race wide, he elected to come back further and follow CAGA SPIRIT during the race and this resulted in KING HARADASUN racing back in the field.
After the race, Y T Cheng reported that DANEWIN TIGER’s action did not feel comfortable during the race. A veterinary inspection of DANEWIN TIGER after the race did not show any significant findings.
After the race, WILD FORCE was found to have bled from both nostrils.
KING HARADASUN, ROCKET PROUD and MARK TWO were sent for sampling.
