Racing Incident Report

After being loaded, LUCKY DAY became fractious and momentarily sat down, resulting in C K Tong, its rider, becoming unbalanced. Before being allowed to race again, LUCKY DAY will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test.
Also after being loaded, NEW STAMINA became fractious, reared and got its right front leg over the partition into the adjoining stall occupied by WINFULL PATROL for a sustained period. After being removed from the barriers, NEW STAMINA was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was not suitable to race. Acting on this advice, the Stewards ordered the withdrawal of NEW STAMINA. Before being allowed to race again, NEW STAMINA will be required to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. When NEW STAMINA became cast, WINFULL PATROL was removed from its stall.
ULTIMATE GLORY was crowded for room on jumping between TWIN DELIGHT and KIROV which shifted in.
WINFULL PATROL lost its left hind plate passing the 1100 Metres.
Passing the 1000 Metres, GENEROUS BOBO, which was proving very difficult to settle and was inclined to charge, shifted in abruptly and made heavy contact with ADDOLE (B Prebble) which as a result became unbalanced and shifted in, resulting in TWIN DELIGHT and ULTIMATE GLORY being tightened. Then making the turn after the 900 Metres, ADDOLE became unbalanced when continuing to race tight outside TWIN DELIGHT, got its head on the side and shifted out across the heels of TRIUMPHANT JEWEL which was awkwardly placed close to the heels of LUCKY DAY (C K Tong) which shifted in when not properly clear. In this incident, ADDOLE lost ground. C K Tong was advised that whilst TRIUMPHANT JEWEL was proving very difficult to settle as the rider of that horse was attempting to obtain cover, nonetheless he must ensure that he is sufficiently clear when shifting ground in future. B Prebble reported that after this incident ADDOLE did not stretch out and then in the Straight did not finish off its race. A veterinary inspection of ADDOLE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. After this incident, GENEROUS BOBO continued to prove very difficult to settle and after being checked away from the heels of TRIUMPHANT JEWEL near the 900 Metres was then left racing wide and without cover.
ULTIMATE GLORY had difficulty obtaining clear running in the early part of the Straight.
Near the 250 Metres, WELL DONE was bumped by PSYCHOLOGIST which, after shifting to the outside of WINFULL PATROL, was then taken out slightly by that horse. ULTIMATE GLORY, which was following WELL DONE, was shifted out away from the heels of that horse in consequence.
Near the 150 Metres, PSYCHOLOGIST was awkwardly placed outside WINFULL PATROL which got its head on the side and lay out under pressure.
In the Straight, NAUGHTY BABY got its head on the side, hung in and proved difficult to ride.
LUCKY DAY travelled wide and without cover throughout the race.
ADDOLE lost its left front plate in the unsaddling area.
A veterinary inspection of TWIN DELIGHT immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of TWIN DELIGHT, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, TWIN DELIGHT will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
A veterinary inspection of GENEROUS BOBO immediately following the race found the horse to be distressed. Before being allowed to race again, GENEROUS BOBO will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
GENEROUS BOBO, PSYCHOLOGIST, BRAVE BROTHER and WINFULL PATROL were sent for sampling.
<3/6/2014 Additional Veterinary Report>The Clinical Veterinary Surgeon reported that HAPPY SUMMER was lame in its left hind leg after racing. Before being allowed to race again, HAPPY SUMMER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
